Recipe – Masala Fry
- This quick and easy Indian recipe for kingfish is a great way to eat the fish without compromising on the taste. The fish has a mild, meaty taste that goes well with the complex Indian spices.
- It’s crunchy, savoury, and so tasty!
Ingredients:
You need just a handful of ingredients to fry fish, firstly you need the fish of course, and a little turmeric powder, red chili powder, salt, semolina, and vinegar or lemon.
Preparation Method:
- After washing and slicing the fish, put the pieces in a bowl and add turmeric, red chilli powder, salt, semolina or rawa, and vinegar. You can use lemon juice instead of vinegar if you don’t have any.
- Coat the fish with semolina (rawa) right before you fry it to make it crispier. We don’t like to put in too much semolina, just enough to make the crust. But you can add more semolina if you want to eat the fish like it is served in hotels.
- Marinate the fish for 10–20 minutes, as time allows, and then shallow fry in a frying pan, or tava, as we call it, with hot oil.
- Fry for about four to five minutes, then flip and fry for another four to five minutes and Voila, it’s ready!!
This fried seafood dish goes well with a salad, dal rice, or roti for a filling and tasty meal.
